Azotemia Extrarenal

What is extrarenal azotemia?

Azotemia - increased nitrogen content in the blood. Nitrogen is not excreted from the body (impaired kidney function). This azotemia is called extraoral.

**Azotemic uremia** (nitrogen-modified uremia or nitrogen-hypochloremic azotemia) is a reversible hyperazotemic syndrome, which is characterized by a decrease in the amount of total nitrogen and electrolytes (especially potassium) with a sufficient level of hydrogen ion, as well as weakness of the urinary apparatus. It is observed in persons suffering from infectious diseases, infections accompanied by high fever, in persons with significant blood loss, after operations, especially on the gastrointestinal tract, in various poisonings. The resulting diarrhea leads to severe demineralization, dehydration, acidosis, protein breakdown, pyrogranuloma and cell lysis. Pathological changes in protein metabolism, severe intoxication of the body, azotemic hemolysis, anemia and purulent-resorptive fever are detected in the blood. P
