Baralgetas: description, use and contraindications

Baralgetas is a combination drug belonging to the group of antispasmodic analgesics. It consists of three active components: metamizole sodium, pitofenone hydrochloride and fenpiverinium bromide. Baralgetas is produced in Yugoslavia by the company Yugoremedia and has many synonyms, such as Baralgin, Berlon, Bioralgin, etc.

Dosage forms of Baralgetas include injection solution and tablets. This drug is used to relieve pain due to spasms of the smooth muscles of internal organs, such as renal colic, hepatic colic, biliary colic, intestinal colic, dysmenorrhea and biliary dyskinesia. It can also be used for the short-term treatment of pain from neuralgia, arthralgia, sciatica, headache, migraine pain and myalgia. Baralgetas tablets can be used to reduce elevated body temperature during colds and infectious and inflammatory diseases.

It must be taken into account that Baralgetas has several contraindications. It is not recommended to take it in cases of severe liver and kidney dysfunction, genetic deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, tachyarrhythmia, closed-angle glaucoma, prostatic hyperplasia with clinical manifestations, suppression of bone marrow hematopoiesis, intestinal obstruction, megacolon, collapse, acute porphyria, chronic heart failure in stages of decompensation. The drug is also contraindicated for use during pregnancy in the first trimester and the last 6 weeks, during lactation (breastfeeding), as well as in case of hypersensitivity to pyrazolone derivatives and other components of the drug. Baralgetas tablets are not prescribed to children under 5 years of age, and the injection solution is not prescribed to children under 3 months of age or with a body weight of less than 5 kg.

When using Baralgetas, side effects may occur, such as allergic reactions, skin rash, itching, angioedema, burning sensation in the epigastric region, dry mouth, headache, dizziness, decreased blood pressure, tachycardia, cyanosis, hematopoietic disorders (thrombocytopenia, leukopenia , agranulocytosis), increased levels of bilirubin in the blood, impaired renal and liver function, epigastric pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, visual impairment, hearing impairment and others.

Before using Baralgetas, you should consult your doctor and strictly follow the recommendations for dosage and duration of treatment. Do not exceed the recommended dose and duration of use of the drug, as this may lead to deterioration of health and serious side effects.
