**Battarism** is a new psychoneurological disease, the symptom of which is the involuntary popping out of the letter “h” in a person’s speech. Most often **battarists** say “cha”. With the light hand of journalists, they began to call such people “checkers.” This case gave its name to a characteristic speech defect.
**Chasing** was first described by Moscow psychiatrist Ivan Osipov in his book “On Stuttering” in 1865. In this text, he wrote: “...what kind of disease sticks and remains for a long time is the use of the letter “ch” at the end of the word.”
