History of BCG otitis
BCG (short for Bacillus Calmette Goetze) is a drug used to vaccinate children against tuberculosis. BCG is introduced into the child’s body and stimulates immunity to tuberculosis bacteria. However, in rare cases, children may suffer from painful ear infections (ear infections) after receiving the vaccine.
The occurrence of BCG otitis
After BCG is introduced into the body, immune cells begin to produce antibodies to the bacteria that cause tuberculosis. When TB bacteria come into contact with a healthy body or a child's oral cavity, it can trigger a reaction from the immune system. As a result, bacteria can get stuck inside microscopic holes in the skin, causing ear inflammation and ear drainage, a process that accompanies abscesses.
