Belladonna Extract Dry: Use, composition and contraindications

Belladonna extract dry is a pharmaceutical preparation produced in Russia by the company Aspharma. It belongs to the group of plants with anticholinergic activity and has the international name "Belladonna". This drug is obtained from the root and leaves of belladonna and is used to treat various diseases accompanied by smooth muscle spasms, such as gastric and duodenal ulcers, cholelithiasis and bradycardia.

The composition of belladonna extract dry includes tropane alkaloids, such as hyoscyamine, scopolamine, atropine, apoatropine and belladonine, as well as volatile compounds. Belladonna tincture has an alkaloid concentration of 0.027% to 0.033% and is made with 40% ethyl alcohol.

When using dried belladonna extract, contraindications must be taken into account. It is contraindicated in glaucoma, an eye disease characterized by increased intraocular pressure. Some side effects may occur with the use of the drug, including dry mouth, dizziness, accommodative paresis (impaired ability of the eye to focus on nearby objects) and tachycardia (accelerated heart rate).

The interaction of belladonna extract with other drugs has not yet been studied, so there is no data on interaction. There is also no data on overdose and special instructions for the use of this drug.
