Belloid (Bellaspon)

Belloid (Bellaspon) is a drug with selective psychotropic (narcotic) and neurotoxic (cholinergic) effects. Belloid contains barbiturates, ergotamine and atropine.

In case of belloid poisoning, the symptoms of atropine poisoning first appear: dry mouth, thirst, tachycardia, dilated pupils, redness of the skin. Then a severe coma develops, similar to a coma in case of barbiturate poisoning, against the background of severe dryness of the skin and mucous membranes, mydriasis and skin hyperemia.

Belloid poisoning is especially dangerous in childhood. The lethal dose is more than 50 tablets.

Treatment for belloid poisoning includes:

  1. Gastric lavage, administration of activated carbon.

  2. Forced diuresis, in severe poisoning - hemosorption.

  3. If excited, treatment is the same as for atropine poisoning; if coma develops, treatment is the same as for barbiturate poisoning.
