Beignet-Balzer Colloid Skin Degeneration

Okay, let's get started!

Beignet-Balzer colloidal dermatation is a skin condition in which the outermost layer of the skin thickens and breaks down, resulting in blemishes and scars. The cause of this disease is various factors such as heredity, infections, stress, trauma and others.

**Beignet-Balzer colloidal (edematous) degeneration** is a relatively common chronic skin disease that develops in older people after skin diseases **(acne,** follicular **hyperkeratosis, sycosis)** and a decrease in the body's reactivity in connection with any severe somatic disease, as well as in patients with **pseudofurunculosis.** The course of the disease is bilateral and symmetrical, accompanied by the appearance of a significant number of small flat papules, fine-plate peeling, and less commonly observed larger irregular papules (stages of exacerbation and remission) (Fig. . 5). The same nature of skin lesions on both limbs confirms the diagnosis. Telangiectasia and areas of hyperemia often appear. At first the process may be limited, but as it develops it becomes widespread.
