Biliary

Biliary dysfunction is a functional disease of the upper and/or lower bile ducts. It is usually accompanied by the development of bacterial overgrowth syndrome in the intestines, so doctors classify cholera-like dysfunctions as a separate group. Biliary dysfunction is diagnosed based on a complex of clinical, laboratory and instrumental signs. The examination begins with laboratory tests (general blood count, urine test, biochemical blood test), and assessment of the condition of the teeth. Among instrumental research methods, an important place is occupied by ultrasound of the abdominal organs, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography of the gallbladder and ducts, secretometry, and duodenal manometry. In most cases, conservative treatment is effective.
