Bismuthism

Bismuthism is a complex of elements or fragments of structure in tissues associated with hypoxic damage. The study found that cancer, as well as tissues of the respiratory and excretory systems, can sometimes be associated with such a structure. The pathogenesis of bismuth is unclear, but factors leading to the formation of this complex are known: hypoxia/inflammation, iron/vitamin C deficiency, dysregulation of heat shock proteins, development of fibrosis, proinflammatory cytokines. Early detection of bismuthism is of great importance, since the inflammation associated with it plays a significant role in the development of the disease.
