1. Graves' disease and its varieties
Graves' disease is an endocrine disease of the thyroid gland that is associated with impaired hormone production. It is characterized by an enlarged thyroid gland and increased levels of thyroxine and triiodothyronine in the blood. The disease can be caused by various factors, including heredity, autoimmune processes and other diseases. The main symptoms of Graves' disease are thyrotokycosis, thyroid goiter, and ophthalmopathy (exophthalmic changes in the eyes).
There are different types of Graves' disease. One is Graves' disease with diffuse goiter (GD), in which the thyroid gland becomes enlarged and can cause changes in the eye and heart structures. The disease can also lead to disruption of the nervous system and other health problems.
