Bordet media is a component of a culture medium intended for cultivating various types of microbes developing under aerobic and anaerobic conditions. Bordet media usually contain components (peptones, yeast extracts, amino compounds, synthetic amino acids and other carbohydrates) necessary both for the growth of a microbial culture and for the vital activity of beneficial and some opportunistic microorganisms. Bordet's medium is the basis for many complex culture media such as MPA (Meat Peptone Agar), Mueller-Hinton (MB/MC), Sabouraud (Sabouraud Sulfite Agar) and R16
