Dosage forms - powder for the preparation of injection solution

Composition - Active ingredient - methohexital.

Indications for use - Anesthesia: introductory, for short-term surgical, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures accompanied by minimal pain, for long-term surgical operations (in combination with narcotic analgesics and inhalational anesthetics).

Contraindications - Hypersensitivity, liver failure, cardiovascular diseases, porphyria, childhood, pregnancy, breastfeeding (after using methohexital, breastfeeding should be stopped for several days).

Side effect - Thrombophlebitis, twitching of skeletal muscles, hypotension, dyspnea, apnea, laryngospasm, bronchospasm, rhinitis, hiccups, headache, drowsiness in the postoperative period, restlessness, anxiety, salivation, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, allergic reactions (hyperemia, itching, urticaria, anaphylaxis), pain at the injection site.

Interaction - Strengthens (mutually) the effect of CNS depressants. Changes the absorption and excretion of diphenin, halothane, anticoagulants, glucocorticoids, ethanol, solutions containing propylene glycol.

Overdose - Symptoms: CNS and respiratory depression, convulsions, electrolyte imbalance, hypotension, decreased peripheral vascular resistance, pulmonary edema, cardiac arrest. Treatment: intubation and mechanical ventilation, infusion of plasma substitutes, administration of vasopressors and cardiotonics; with the development of seizures - diphenin.

Special instructions - Do not mix in one syringe and administer through the same needle with acidic solutions.
