Composition: Active ingredient - carbocysteine.

Indications for use: Diseases of the respiratory system with copious and viscous bronchial discharge, inflammatory diseases of the middle ear and paranasal sinuses; preparing the patient for bronchoscopy or bronchography.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity, ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, renal dysfunction, acute glomerulonephritis, cystitis, pregnancy and breastfeeding, children under 1 year of age (for syrup), children under 16 years of age (for granules).

Side effects: Nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, diarrhea, gastrointestinal bleeding, allergic reactions (skin rash, angioedema).

Interaction: Increases the effectiveness of glucocorticoid (mutually) and antibacterial therapy for inflammatory diseases of the upper and lower respiratory tract. Potentiates the bronchodilator effect of theophylline. The activity of carbocisteine ​​is weakened by antitussives and atropine-like drugs.

Overdose: Symptoms: epigastric pain, nausea, diarrhea. Treatment: symptomatic. There is no specific antidote.
