Soft but effective gels, cream foams and mousses that effectively cleanse problematic skin and do not dry it out. Julia's choice.
All year I have been specifically looking for cleansers that would not harm my difficult skin: at the same time problematic, oily, prone to the formation of closed comedones, inflammation, but at the same time periodically dehydrated (to the point of peeling), very sensitive and with redness. Sensitivity is in fact the same as fragility; the lipid layer is easily damaged by too harsh means.
Classic cleansers for acne-prone skin are usually not very gentle on it. A year ago I realized that I needed to try something else.
And this is what I managed to fall in love with during this time.
Hidraven Foamy Soap-Free Cream, Sesderma
I liked this product SOOO much that I included it in my September best. Not surprising - it was specially developed for sensitive skin that is prone to acne and does not tolerate regular soap well. Despite the Sodium Laureth Sulfate in the composition and the questionable antibacterial triclosan, its formula is so successfully soft that I will definitely buy more and more. (True, not soon - the cream foam comes in a volume of 300 ml and does not think it will run out yet.) I still don’t understand why Hidraven Foamy soap-free cream was called cream foam - the texture is an ordinary transparent gel. Excellent for removing regular makeup. It doesn’t dry out at all - on the contrary, after washing your face, your skin feels like it’s damp. And it doesn't irritate. It seems to me that this particular remedy played a significant role in the fact that my sensitivity has now decreased.
(The main thing is, don’t let your husband confuse Hidraven with liquid soap - the bottle format is similar, I almost lost my foam cream -)).
Contains chamomile, oats, mimosa and aloe (soothe, moisturize, regenerate).

Simply Clean Pore Refining Gel Cleanser, SkinCeuticals
I also already wrote about Simply Clean - in a review of SkinCeuticals pigmentation treatment. A basic cleanser for normal, combination and oily skin, softer than its brother Blemish&Age Cleansing Gel (I would most likely choose the latter for myself, and Simply Clean was recommended by a dermatologist when selecting a program - she took into account sensitivity). This was the first soft cleansing gel, which I tried to switch to from slightly harsher ones. And at first it seemed to me that it was about to shower me, so my hand kept reaching for the previous favorites. I had to really convince myself - but then I finally got into it, overcame my acne fear - and now I keep Simply Clean in reserve. It does not violate the barrier properties of the skin, but cleanses it well (the main thing is to remove heavy makeup separately before). What else do you need?
The composition contains hydroxy acids (glycolic for exfoliation and moisturizing, citric, malic and tartaric for antioxidant effect, lactic for moisturizing and keratolytic effect), soothing aloe juice, blueberry extract, chamomile, sage.

Foaming gel for washing Phys-AC Gel Moussant Purifiant, A-Derma
A-Derma is a wonderful French pharmacy brand that has earned its main reputation on caring for dry, atopic, very sensitive and fragile skin. Their main ingredient is realba oats, which wonderfully nourishes and regenerates the skin. The brand was already in Russia, then it was taken out, and this year it was brought back again - but not all of it. In particular, they decided to introduce a line for acne-prone skin later. I grabbed my bottle of cleanser during the press tour (I literally begged it from PR, which actually rarely happens to me). And I've been hooked ever since. And recently I asked for this gel again -)
The cleansing components in the composition are really very soft (as in products for children), there are moisturizing ingredients, there is the same soothing realba oats, so the gel works very gently without drying out the skin. But it works - and it does it VERY well!
Ingredients: Aqua, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Coco-Glucoside, Polysorbate-20, Sodium Chloride, Ceteareth-60 Myristyl Glycol, Glycol Palmitate, PEG-200 Hydrogenated Glyceryl Palmate, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract, Caprylyl Glycol , Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA, Parfum (Fragrance), Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Sorbic Acid
Price: approximately 2500 rub. for 200 ml (we don’t have it officially yet).
Keracnyl Acne Prone Skin Foaming Gel Face and Body, Ducray
And I already praised this product in the spring. By the way, please note that this cleansing gel used to come in a white bottle and had a different composition, but this blue version has a cooler formula. Keraknyl is prescribed to patients with acne undergoing dermatological treatment, which can be very harsh - that’s why the formulations here are initially gentle. And I am simply in love with this blue gel! There is no soap in it, it is very soft, does not dry out the skin, does not irritate. When I switched to it from my previously beloved Cleansing Complex, is Clinical, the difference was striking - my skin immediately felt better both in terms of sensitivity and hydration. The only negative is the dispenser, it spits out too much gel.

Glacial Face Wash, Skyn Iceland
I recently praised this Skyn Iceland mousse. The entire brand is created for skin under stress, and this particular product contains Icelandic glacial water, Arctic cloudberry and cranberry oils, white willow bark (soothes), Icelandic brown algae (restores).
And although it’s already boring to write this for the fifth time 🙂 - but: cleanses effectively, does not irritate and does not dry out. It just does everything it needs to do and doesn’t do everything it doesn’t need to do -).

All five products have caught on with me and are always at hand in the bathroom. But if you try to somehow rank them, then Sesderma would be in first place, A-Derma and Ducray would be in second place, and SkinCeuticals and Skyn Iceland would be in third place.
- What good cleansers do you know for problematic but sensitive skin?
The face is the most open, therefore the most vulnerable part of the human body. That is why we pay so much attention to caring for this area, we try to keep the skin in the best condition, we use protective, cleansing and healthy-looking products. Usually, a washing gel is selected empirically, but we decided to help you a little. The rating of the best washing gels presents the most effective products for different types of facial skin, providing high-quality cleansing of the epidermis and gentle care.
Gels as opposed to foams, creams, lotions, etc. have a gel-like consistency. They foam easily in wet palms or using a mesh. The effectiveness of the product depends on how well the manufacturer has selected a “cocktail” of surfactants (cleaners) and additional caring components (oils, fruit acids, plant extracts, etc.). It is also important how well the composition of the wash matches your skin type.
The best manufacturers of washing gels
Cleansing gel is a basic skin care product that is found in most facial care series of various brands. Conventionally, three groups of gels can be distinguished:
Pharmacy. The most popular are products from the brands Vichy, Avene, La Roche-Posay, Bioderma, Uriage, CeraVe. As a rule, they are dermatologically tested, hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, and often have not only a cosmetic, but also a therapeutic effect. The prices for such products are high, but the result lives up to expectations. If your skin has pronounced problems, welcome to the pharmacy.
Professional. Representatives of salon cosmetics can cause both delight and disappointment, since they are not cheap, and their effectiveness is not always the best. However, several brands caught our attention: Christina, Janssen, Holy Land - reviews of the gels for washing these forms are mostly positive. Korean washing gels occupy a special niche (in our rating this is the COSRX brand) - they are invariably praised for their high quality and reasonable price.
Mass market. In this category, the range of washing gels is large, as is the price range. There are many domestic and foreign brands represented, choosing from which is not an easy task. Let’s just say that gels from the “mass market” category may well suit the skin without significant problems. Even budget washbasins do their main task well. You just need to make sure that they do not dry out the epidermis.
The cosmetics you use to cleanse your skin also have an impact on its condition and health. Therefore, you need to take their choice seriously and buy the product that is designed for your skin type.
Dry skin is most often sensitive, prone to irritation and flaking. If you have this type of skin, then we recommend Pro-Beauty Bio Cleansing Gel for Dry and Sensitive Skin, filled with ingredients that have a beneficial effect on this particular skin type.
The gel provides gentle cleansing while maintaining the natural water balance of the skin.
The plant extract of Centella asiatica allows the product to quickly remove redness, and the Gluadin complex (from wheat germ) and natural cotton extract help moisturize excessively dry skin.
Vitamins B5, E and F in this cosmetic product are responsible for the regeneration and elasticity of the skin, and also perform a protective function.
An incredibly valuable component of the Pro-Beauty Bio Cleansing Gel for dry and sensitive skin is Phyto Moist Complex, which contains plant stem cells of Globularia cordifolia. With its help, the gel removes toxins and also protects the youth of your skin.
The right cleanser is the first and, perhaps, the most important step on the path to beauty and health!
Active components: Asian centella extract, cotton extract, Gluadin plant complex, Phyto Moist Complex, vitamins B5, E, F.
