Congenital cardiosclerosis is not a diagnosis, but a term that describes the appearance of scars on the heart after a myocardial infarction. They may occur in response to extensive heart disease or rheumatic disease. This process occurs against the background of the development of inflammatory processes in the heart muscle. With congenital cardiosclerosis, normal heart tissue is replaced by connective or scar tissue. In some cases, a more unfavorable outcome is observed - the cardiac system begins to be replaced by adipose tissue, which leads to the development of dystrophy and failure of cardiac function.
