Cavity Tympanum II (Tympanum)

Cavity Tympanum Ii (Tympanum) - middle ear (its tympanic cavity). This is a small cavity located in the temporal bone. It connects to the outer ear through the tympanic membrane, and to the inner ear through the oval and round windows. The tympanic cavity contains three auditory ossicles - the malleus, the incus and the stapes. These ossicles transmit sound vibrations from the eardrum to the oval window of the inner ear. Thus, the tympanic cavity acts as an amplifier and sound transducer, ensuring its transmission from the outer to the inner ear.

Cavity Tympanum II (tympanum)

The middle ear is located in the human skull and is formed by the tympanic cavity, which consists of the eardrum, posterior and anterior walls, cavity, and bone canal. The tympanic cavity, also known as the eardrum, is a thin, elastic membrane that separates the middle ear from the external environment. It is a barrier that protects the middle ear and ear canal from infections and foreign bodies. In addition, this membrane performs the function of sound collection and transmits sound waves to the cochlea and further to the auditory nerves of the brain.

The middle ear cavity also contains the tympanic sac, which contains a liquid medium called cerebrospinal fluid. CSF has several functions in the body, such as providing lubrication for the transmission of sound waves, helping to transport nutrients to structures associated with the ear, and reducing pressure on structures

The middle part of the ear is called the middle ear, or colloquially the middle ear. In the structure of the middle ear, one more compartment can be distinguished - the middle ear or the tympanic cavity or the tympanic membrane. The ear cavity is divided into outer, middle and inner sections. The outer chamber is the largest.

The middle section consists of the chambers of the middle and outer ear. It is small in size and located behind the auricle. The chambers of the middle ear can also be divided into two parts. This is the tympanic cavity. The outer part is called the drum. This chamber also has a couple of sections - the external auditory and tubal ossicles.
