Cefobid

Cephobid is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that is manufactured by several companies, including Biohalova Ca (Hungary), Poweryer Inc. (USA), Powerair Turkish (Turkey), Powerair Italian (Italy) and Powerair Indonesia (Indonesia). It may be prescribed to treat a variety of infections, including respiratory and urinary tract infections, infections of the skin, soft tissue and other body tissues, and genital infections such as endometritis and gonorrhea.

Despite the fact that Cephobid is generally well tolerated, it has a number of contraindications and side effects. It should not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to cephalosporin antibiotics, severe renal failure, pregnancy or breastfeeding. It should be used with caution in patients with a history of allergy to penicillin or other cephalosporins, in premature infants and newborns older than two weeks, the elderly, alcoholics, and patients at high risk of bleeding.

Side effects when using Cefobid may include neutropenia, decreased blood prothrombin, nausea and diarrhea, skin rashes and allergic reactions. It may also reduce the effectiveness of other antibiotics such as aminoglycosides.
