Charcot Joint

Charcot joint is a pathology associated with degenerative-dystrophic changes in interfascial (extra-articular) joints of bones and intervertebral discs. Many domestic and foreign experts studied this issue, but it was most accurately described and studied by a commission headed by Charcot. In Russia, there are several schools dealing with this issue; in particular, Professor G.N. Shassinsky studied the effect of microparticles of cement mortar on intervertebral discs. The development of the subarachnoid space in a child was first observed by Professor I.M. Zatulo.

According to Professor E. A. Vishnevsky, the pathology of interarticular cartilage is mainly caused by a violation of the diffuse-elastic process of blood supply to the connective tissue of the joint. Professor P. A. Korzukhin linked the development of inflammation of interfascial tissues with the development of trophic disorders.
