Cromosol: Antiallergic drug from Poland

Cromosol is an antiallergic drug produced in Poland by the companies Polfa, Rzeszowskie Zaklady Farmaceutyczne SA and CN Polfa Rzeszow. Its international name is cromoglicic acid. Cromosol is widely used to treat various allergic conditions.

Cromosol is available in a variety of dosage forms, including nasal and eye sprays, capsules, and inhalation forms. The active substance of the drug is cromoglycic acid. It is effective for conditions such as food allergies, conjunctivitis, asthma and hay fever.

Cromosol has an antiallergic effect that helps reduce inflammation and symptoms of allergic reactions. It can be used as an adjuvant in the treatment of various diseases such as ulcerative colitis, proctitis, coloproctitis and mastocytosis.

When using Cromosol, some side effects may occur. In case of inhalation use, skin reactions such as exanthema and dermatitis, as well as nervous disorders, including dizziness and insomnia, may occur. From the gastrointestinal tract, nausea, diarrhea and impaired liver function may be observed. Changes in the genitourinary and respiratory systems are also possible.

Cromosol has some contraindications. Its use is not recommended in case of hypersensitivity to benzalkonium hydrochloride, as well as during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Age restrictions must also be taken into account, especially for children under 2 years of age.
