Coagulology

Coagulology is the science of blood clotting processes. She studies the mechanisms of regulation of blood coagulation and anticoagulation, as well as their disorders in normal and pathological conditions.

Coagulological studies play an important role in the diagnosis of many diseases, such as thrombosis, thromboembolism, myocardial infarction, stroke, bleeding, cancer, etc.

Various methods are used to study coagulation, such as coagulometry, thromboelastography, thrombodynamics, thrombography and others.

One of the most common methods for studying the coagulation properties of blood is a coagulogram. It includes the determination of prothrombin time, activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT), international normalized ratio (INR), fibrinogen and other indicators.

Violation of the coagulation system can lead to serious consequences, such as thrombosis and thromboembolism. Therefore, coagulological tests are an important link in the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases.
