Psychopathicism. The cyclopathic mental type is a cycloid-manic variant of expansive psychopathy and corresponds to the cycloid schizotypal structure, but the opposite type of arrangement of phase emotional reactions. Persons with P.C. have the complexity of the emotional-volitional sphere, a higher level of intelligence, the ability to concentrate energy, and, unlike manic psychopaths, can adhere to a stable social situation. In addition, such a person is distinguished by natural cheerfulness, an expressed desire for independence and sociability, superficiality of feelings, despite thoughtful actions and determination. The usual state of such people fluctuates between euphoria and depression for a number of non-cyclical reasons of a different nature: hostile relationships with other people, unfavorable living conditions, disappointments, illnesses, dissatisfaction with life and career, painful premonitions, etc., less often from joyful events or good luck . The clinical picture alternates between depressive phases, which last from several weeks to a year, giving way, as a rule, to euphoric states, and there are also long periods of indifference, dulling of feelings, up to an indifferent attitude towards loved ones, and suicidal tendencies during the period of euphoria. It is typical to intensify all manifestations of hypomania during attacks of hypomania or mania.
