Cytological examination is a research method, a set of methods for studying tissues and the contents of the apparatus using a light microscope - cytoscopy, or subsequent analysis and interpretation of cytolites. The main function of cytological examination is to determine the presence of pathological changes in tissues and cells; monitoring treatment, tracking relapses and remissions. The material for research can be any, but usually sputum, feces, urine and oral swabs are taken for cytoscopy.
Methods for determining pregnancy - hormonal, immunological and cytological - give maximum accuracy at 8-16 weeks, have intermediate accuracy at 5-7 and relative accuracy up to 20 days after unprotected intercourse. It is important to remember that each of the methods has its own indications and contraindications for use, so you need to make a choice between them only with a doctor.
