Daunorubicin

Daunorubicin, also known as doxorubicin, is a chemotherapy drug. Has antitumor effect. It is used for acute leukemia, as well as in the treatment of tumors of the ovaries, breast, kidneys, bladder, larynx, esophagus and other organs.

Application The drug is prescribed taking into account the patient’s age, the direction of therapy and the severity of the disease. Most often, tablets or injections are prescribed by a medical oncology specialist. Often, after a relapse is detected, there is a need for a second course of therapy. Despite the fact that therapy lasts for 4-6 months after the relief of primary acute leukemia, the course of treatment is extended for another six months, then reinduction is carried out.
