Retinal Degeneration Secondary

Retinal degeneration is a visual impairment due to the pathology of retinal degeneration. A person cannot correctly determine the location of objects and their characteristics, cannot recognize what he sees, which provokes a deterioration in social adaptation, as it destabilizes the ability to perceive the world. This pathology is usually accompanied by a gradual decrease in peripheral vision. Degeneration can also lead to blindness.

The diagnosis of retinal degeneration does not put an end to vision loss, it only points to the source of the problem. This is one of many possible factors that led to the deterioration of the binocular process of visual analysis, it is either a complication of the retina or it arises due to a neurodegenerative process. The most common cause of retinal damage is diabetes. Damage to the retina due to diabetes mellitus is observed in 60% of patients of all ages.
