Dishormonal disease: Mastopathy

Mastopathy is a benign disease of the mammary glands associated with hormonal imbalance in the body. According to statistics, mastopathy affects from 20 to 60% of women.

Causes of mastopathy:

  1. Nervous stress
  2. Hereditary predisposition
  3. Environmental pollution
  4. Overweight
  5. Hormonal disorders (gynecological diseases, late pregnancy and childbirth, frequent abortions, use of hormonal contraceptives)
  6. Hormonal fluctuations during the menstrual cycle

Symptoms of mastopathy:

  1. Pain and tightness in the breasts before menstruation
  2. Cyst formation
  3. Nipple discharge

Mastopathy can develop into breast cancer, so it is important to regularly self-examine and consult a doctor if alarming symptoms appear.

Diagnosis is carried out using palpation, mammography, ultrasound. Treatment is selected individually and may include hormonal medications, vitamins, and diet. If precancer is detected, surgical intervention is necessary.

Regular examination by a mammologist allows you to identify problems at an early stage. Women over 35 years of age are recommended to visit a doctor at least once every 2 years.
