Retinal dystrophy

The loss of light-sensitive pigment (melanin) in the lens of the eye leads to various eye diseases, including corneal pathology and degenerative changes in the retina.

**Corneal dystrophy** is a consequence that is facilitated by genetic or acquired factors. It is typical for high myopia in children under 12 years of age. The preferred treatment option is urgent restoration of the correct ratio of the optical media of the eye using radical laserectomy. With timely intervention, high functional results can be achieved.

Despite the fact that when the central parts of the retina are damaged, central vision is impaired, the prognosis for vision, including further orientation in space, remains favorable.
