Ingredients: Dioxidine.

Indications for use: Dioxidin in solution is indicated for the treatment of various forms of purulent bacterial infection caused by:

  1. Gram-negative bacteria, in particular Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus, Klebsiella.
  2. Staphylococci and streptococci.
  3. Strains of bacteria resistant to antibiotics and other chemotherapeutic drugs (including multidrug-resistant strains of staphylococci).

Dioxidin is indicated in cases of purulent infection, when other chemotherapeutic agents are ineffective or poorly tolerated. Dioxidin is prescribed for the prevention of purulent infection during extensive surgical interventions in weakened patients during operations for suppurative processes.

a) Intravenous administration of dioxidine solution is indicated only in severe septic conditions (including in patients with burn disease), purulent meningitis, severe purulent-inflammatory processes with symptoms of generalized infection.

  1. Intracavitary administration - purulent processes of the chest and abdominal cavity, with purulent pleurisy, pleural empyema, lung abscesses, peritonitis, cystitis, wounds with the presence of deep purulent cavities (soft tissue abscesses, pelvic cellulitis, postoperative wounds of the urinary and biliary tract, purulent mastitis, etc. )

c) Local application - superficial and deep wounds of various locations, long-term non-healing wounds and trophic ulcers, soft tissue phlegmon, infected burns - purulent wounds with osteomyelitis, purulent processes in the pelvic tissue, postoperative wounds of the urinary and biliary tract.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to dioxidine, adrenal insufficiency, pregnancy, lactation.

Side effects: Possible headache, chills, fever, dyspeptic disorders, convulsive muscle contractions, allergic reactions. In these cases, reduce the dose, prescribe antihistamines or discontinue dioxidine. For patients with hypersensitivity to drugs, dioxidin is prescribed simultaneously with antihistamines or calcium supplements in normal doses.

Interaction: If necessary, dioxidin is used simultaneously with antihistamines or calcium preparations (in case of hypersensitivity to drugs).
