Doxydar 100

Doxidar 100: an effective antibiotic for the treatment of a wide range of infections

Doxidar 100 is a drug containing doxycycline, which belongs to the group of tetracycline antibiotics. This drug is manufactured in Jordan by Dar al Dawa and is used to treat many infections caused by bacteria, including intracellular pathogens.

Doxidar 100 can be used to treat infections caused by rickettsia, borrelia, brucella, mycoplasma and chlamydia. It is also effective in the treatment of diseases of the ENT organs and lower respiratory tract, urinary tract infections, gonorrhea, syphilis, purulent infections of the skin and soft tissues, acne and infectious ulcerative keratitis.

The drug can also be used to prevent surgical infections after medical abortion, colon surgery, and to prevent Plasmodium falciparum malaria during short-term travel to areas where Plasmodium resistance to chloroquine and/or pyrimethamine-sulfadoxine has been reported.

Despite its wide range of uses, Doxidar 100 has some contraindications. It is not recommended for use in cases of hypersensitivity, porphyria, severe liver failure, leukopenia, pregnancy (second half) and breastfeeding (breastfeeding should be avoided during treatment).

Taking Doxidar 100 can cause some side effects, including dizziness, sweating, vascular collapse, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, dysphagia, glossitis, esophagitis, dysbiosis, fungal infections, reinfections with resistant strains, eosinophilia, neutropenia, photosensitivity , persistent discoloration of tooth enamel and allergic reactions.

In addition, it is necessary to pay attention to the interaction of Doxidar 100 with other drugs. Absorption of Doxidar 100 may be reduced by concomitant use of iron supplements, sodium bicarbonate, aluminum, calcium or magnesium antacids, magnesium-containing laxatives, cholestyramine and colestipol. Barbiturates, carbamazepine, phenytoin, rifampicin and phenylbutazone may accelerate the metabolism of doxycycline and reduce its effectiveness. In addition, Doxidar 100 may increase the toxicity of methotrexate.

The dosage of Doxidar 100 depends on the type of infection, its severity and the age of the patient. Usually the drug is taken at a dose of 100 mg twice a day for 7-14 days. When treating syphilis and gonorrhea, it is recommended to take the drug in a single dose of 200 mg. To prevent malaria, Doxidar 100 is taken 1-2 days before the trip and during the entire stay in the endemic zone and another 4 weeks after return.

In general, Doxidar 100 is an effective antibiotic for the treatment of a wide range of infections, but its use should be agreed with a doctor, taking into account the individual characteristics of the patient and possible contraindications and side effects.
