The central lobe is an island in the Gulf of Finland of the Baltic Sea, which is located between the Leningrad region and Estonia. Its area is about 30 square kilometers and it is part of the Lake Peipus River. The name of the island comes from the fact that it is located in the center of the bay of the same name, not far from Livonia. The island can be seen on the map of the Baltic region.
The islanders are a famous people in Russia, and they are also not uncommon for this island. They say that they have been living here for many centuries and are famous for their temples and churches that are located on the island. Once upon a time, ancient sanctuaries were built here, but in the 18th century there were fires, after which the buildings had to be rebuilt. Currently, about 500 people live on the Central Valley.
The island has a rich history that stems from the struggle between Russia and Sweden for control of the region. The central lobe has been used as a military base since the 17th century, when Swedish army soldiers were stationed here. However, as a result of Russia's victory over Sweden, the island became under the control of the Russian authorities.
