Nervous lobe of the pituitary gland

The pituitary lobe is a group of cells that are located in the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland. They are called nerve cells, or nervocytes (lat. neuralia cellulae).

This part of the endocrine gland performs two main functions: regulating hormone levels and regulating their production. Nerve cells secrete the hormone antidiuretic hormone, which controls fluid levels in the body. They also participate
