Dotarem

Dotarem is a radiopaque contrast agent produced in France by the company Laboratory Gerbet.

The international name of the drug is Gadoterate meglumine. Dotarem is available in dosage form - a solution for intravenous administration.

Dotarem belongs to the group of non-ionic radiocontrast agents. The active ingredient of Dotarem - gadoteric acid - binds metal ions, thereby reducing the toxicity of the contrast agent.

Dotarem is used for contrast during magnetic resonance imaging. The drug increases the intensity of the MR signal in areas of accumulation of the contrast agent, thereby improving the visualization of pathological lesions and anatomical structures.

Dotarem is well tolerated and has a low incidence of side effects. The main advantage of Dotarem is its high efficiency in small doses compared to other MR contrast agents.
