Indications for use

Doxycycline hyclate is used to treat various infections caused by various bacteria. The drug is the drug of choice for the treatment of infections caused by rickettsia and borrelia. Doxycycline hyclate is also effective in treating infections caused by chlamydia, mycoplasma and other intracellular pathogens.

The drug is also effective in the treatment of respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and in the prevention of surgical infections.

Contraindications and side effects

Doxycycline hyclate is contraindicated in cases of hypersensitivity to doxycycline, porphyria, severe liver failure, leukopenia, pregnancy (in the second half), breastfeeding (breastfeeding should be avoided during treatment) and for children under 9 years of age.
