Dosage forms: tablets 50 mg
Composition: Active substance - dimenhydrinate.
Indications for use: Sea and air sickness, Meniere's disease, prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity, epilepsy, acute exudative and vesicular dermatoses, pregnancy (first trimester), lactation, children (up to 2 years).
Side effects: Weakness, fatigue, impaired concentration, headache, dizziness, anxiety, nervousness, drowsiness, insomnia, weakened night and color vision, impaired accommodation; hypotension, tachycardia, hemolytic anemia; dryness of the oral mucosa, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, epigastric distress; dryness of the mucous membrane of the nose and throat, thickening of bronchial secretions; allergic reactions (skin rash, drug dermatitis); development of drug dependence (with long-term use), dysuria.
Interaction: Enhances the effects of atropine, tricyclic antidepressants, catecholamines, barbiturates, alcohol, sedatives and hypnotics, neuroleptics, weakens the effects of corticosteroids, anticoagulants. Decreases response to apomorphine. Reduces the depressive effect of acetylcholine on the heart muscle. Incompatible with ototoxic antibiotics: streptomycin, neomycin, viomycin, amikacin, kanamycin (possible hearing impairment). Combination with bismuth preparations, scopolamine, painkillers and psychotropic drugs increases the likelihood of visual impairment.
Overdose: Symptoms: fatigue, drowsiness, headache, dizziness, itching and vasodilation of the skin, mydriasis, slowed pupillary response to light, impaired accommodation, nystagmus, decreased muscle tone and tendon reflexes, urinary retention, tachycardia, change
Special instructions: Prescribe with caution for prostatic hypertrophy, narrow-angle glaucoma, hyperthyroidism, cardiovascular diseases, bronchial asthma, stenosing peptic ulcer, pyloroduodenal obstruction or bladder neck obstruction. Use in the II–III trimester of pregnancy is possible with extreme caution if the expected effect of therapy outweighs the potential risk to the fetus. In the initial period of therapy, driving vehicles and engaging in activities that require rapid mental and motor reactions are prohibited. Prescribe with caution in the elderly.
