Dubrovnik Sage, also known as forest Dubrovnik, belongs to the Lamiaceae, Labiatae family. Its pharmaceutical name is the sage herb (flowering) - Teucrii scorodoniae heiba (formerly: Herba Teucrii scorodoniae). It is a herbaceous plant that can reach a height of 20-30 cm.

Dubrovnik Salvia has heart-shaped, wrinkled leaves that are softly hairy. Its flowers, collected in a false spike, are pale greenish-yellow in color and turned to one side. The plant is widespread in European deciduous and coniferous forests, but is less common to the east.

Dubrovnik Sage contains a number of active ingredients, including essential oil, tannins, bitterness, flavonoids, saponins and glycosides. Thanks to these substances, the plant is used for various purposes.

One of the most common uses of Dubrovnik Salvia is to stimulate the appetite. It can also be used as a mild laxative, as well as a cough suppressant and blood purifier. In homeopathy, Dubrovnik Salvia is used for pulmonary diseases.
