Dymyanka Medicinal.

Dymyanka officinalis: properties and application

Fumaria officinalis (lat. Fumaria officinalis) is an annual plant of the Fumiyaceae family, which is widespread throughout the European part of Russia, the Caucasus and the south of Western Siberia. It grows in vegetable gardens, vacant lots, landfills and garbage places and has a branched, creeping stem 8 to 40 cm high. The entire plant is covered with a grayish-green waxy coating, and the leaves, which are three times pinnately dissected with narrow lobules, have an alternate arrangement.

Dymyanka blooms almost all summer. The flowers are irregular in shape, on short stalks, collected in a raceme and have a dirty crimson color. The fruit is a brownish round nut, depressed at the top, which ripens in July-October.

Smoker officinalis is used in folk medicine as an anti-inflammatory, diuretic, anti-scabies, anti-malarial and tonic. The entire plant is used as a medicinal raw material, which is collected during flowering and dried in any way, quickly, so that the raw material does not turn black. The temperature in ovens should not exceed 45°C. Store in wooden or glass containers for no more than 2 years.

The raw material of fume contains organic acids (fumaric, succinic, glycolic, malic, citric and ascorbic), vitamin K, alkaloids, phenolcarboxylic acids (caffeic, chlorogenic), tannins and flavonoids.

Fumiya preparations have antiarrhythmic, anti-inflammatory, diuretic, anti-scabies, antimalarial and tonic effects. In folk medicine, fume is used for bleeding (hemorrhoidal, intestinal, uterine and internal organs), exhaustion, inflammation of the gastric mucosa, accompanied by a decrease in acidity and digestive ability, as well as to improve appetite.

An infusion of fumes increases the secretion of bile and gastric juice, improves digestion, reduces fermentation and putrefactive processes in the intestines, and eliminates constipation. It is used for vaginal douching during leucorrhoea. An infusion of fresh leaves of the plant is recommended for diseases of the gallbladder and kidneys, as well as for gout and rheumatism.

Smoker can be used as a separate remedy or in combination with other medicinal plants. Fumigation preparations are produced in the form of infusions, decoctions, extracts and tablets.

Despite the long history of using fume in folk medicine, before using it for medicinal purposes, you should consult a doctor, as some of its components may cause side effects and interact with other medications.
