Dupuytren's Fracture Dislocation

Dupuytrens is a group of genetically determined congenital neuromuscular diseases associated with disorders of type III collagen synthesis and accompanied by progressive calcification and fibrosis of the intermuscular aponeurosis of the hand. The pathology is based on uncontrolled excessive division of fibroblasts in the connective tissue of the hand, which form cords to maintain the normal shape of the human hand (“weight fingers”), as well as due to an imbalance of anabolic and catabolic processes in the fibers of the dermatome.
