Editin

Vancomycin (other names Editsin) is an antibiotic that is used to treat severe infectious and inflammatory diseases. It is effective against many pathogens, including Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis and Enterococcus faecium.

Vancomycin has few contraindications. In particular, it is not recommended for use in case of hypersensitivity to the antibiotic, as well as in early pregnancy. However, like any other medicine, it may have side effects. For example, when taking it, it is possible to develop allergic reactions such as rash, itching, nausea and vomiting. In addition, thrombophlebitis or vasculitis may occur with intravenous administration.

Vancomycin should be taken under medical supervision as it requires special storage conditions and should be used only as directed. In case of overdose, complex treatment is required, including symptomatic therapy and hemodialysis.

It is important to note that vancomycin should not be used independently for self-medication. This can lead not only to a decrease in the effectiveness of treatment, but also to undesirable health consequences. The use of vancomycin should be carried out only by a doctor and under the supervision of laboratory tests.
