Ecthyma

Ecthyma is a pathological process in which multiple pustules appear on the skin. Rashes are observed on different parts of the body. The main symptom of the pathology is the presence of a rash, which consists of small pustules with purulent contents, through which pus is hardly released. Each of them is covered with a yellowish crust, which often slides off. Erosion of the epithelium of the affected areas of the body is accompanied by pain, swelling and infiltration. The size of the elements varies. After the rashes open, ulcers with jagged edges form in their place. The pustules are round in shape and have a diameter of no more than 3 mm. The presence of a rash is accompanied by itching, fever and weakness. Most often, the disease is diagnosed in people with HIV infection and bronchiectasis. Also, the appearance of rashes is characteristic of sore throats and tuberculosis.
