Enchondroma (Enchondroma, Plural Enchondromata)

Enchondroma is one of the names for a benign formation that protrudes outward above the surface of the bone and is located near its base. The term “enchondroma” is derived from two Greek words: en – inside; hondros - bone. It is essentially cartilage tissue covering bone. The tissue usually develops in the metaphyseal region.
