Epidermomycosis

Epidermomycosis is a group of infectious diseases of the skin and mucous membranes caused by fungi of the genus dermatophytes. These fungi live on the surface of the skin and hair and can cause various diseases such as ringworm, scab, microsporia, favus and others.

Epidermomycosis can affect both adults and children and is often found in regions with warm, humid climates. Infection occurs through contact with an infected person or animal, as well as through shared objects such as towels, bedding and clothing.

Symptoms of athlete's foot may include itching, flaking of the skin, crusting and blotching of the skin, hair loss and other symptoms. Treatment may include topical antifungal medications such as ointments and creams, as well as systemic medications if the disease is severe.

To prevent epidermomycosis, it is important to follow the rules of hygiene and not use other people’s towels, clothes and other items that may be contaminated with fungi. You should also avoid contact with sick animals and people who show signs of illness.
