Fasciectomy Palmar

Fasciectomy is a plastic surgery technique that involves removing sections or all of the fascia of the arms and legs. Fascia is connective tissue that covers muscles and tendons, helping to strengthen and protect them.

Fascia plays an important role in preventing injury and damage to muscles and tendons, and also provides elasticity and tone to the skin. If the fascial layer is disrupted, there is a risk of fibrous changes, edema, adhesions, joint dysfunction, blood and lymph stagnation, which leads to a deterioration in the patient’s quality of life.

**Fasciectomies may be recommended for the following indications:**

- Tendinitis or tendinosis (chronic inflammation of the ligaments);

- Carpal Syndrome
