Ferula Camediferous, or Galban

Umbelliferae - Apiaceae (Umbelliferae). Pharmacy name: galban (dried gum) - Galbanum.

Botanical description.

Umbrella plant up to 1-2 m in height; in the ribs on the stem there are channels with milky juice. Grows in Iran and Afghanistan.

Active ingredients: gum-like substances, essential oil and a number of other bactericidal substances.

Application. Previously, it was prescribed internally in the form of a tincture for various types of inflammation and painful menstruation. Currently, it is only sometimes included in rubs for rheumatic pain.
