Furunculosis

Furunclesis This is a purulent-necrotic process that affects the hair follicle, shaft and surrounding connective tissue or subcutaneous fatty tissue.

Characteristic clinical signs of a boil are severe pain in the affected area, redness, swelling and a local increase in temperature (up to 40°C). Also in the center of the boil there is a focus of purulent necrosis, painful on palpation. The prevalence of furunculosis depends on the localization of the process. As a complication of this process, abscesses and phlegmon may occur, as well as general disorders of a general nature (increased body temperature to 39-40 degrees, general weakness).

Complications of the subtype arise due to the addition of another infection, both internal and external factors. When treating, it is necessary to take into account local and general treatment. Local treatment includes the use of anti-inflammatory drugs and antibiotics. It is also recommended to use antiseptic dressings with ointments and apply sterile protective dressings to prevent infection of the wound. Together with local treatment, general treatment is carried out, aimed at strengthening the patient’s immunity. The best way is to take broad-spectrum antibiotics. An important component of treatment is identifying and eliminating the source of infection. Be sure to consult a specialist and follow his recommendations.
