Hemodialysis

Hemodialysis is a therapeutic method that involves the artificial purification of blood from toxic substances using special devices called blood-purifying dialyzers. These include peritoneal dialysis, “artificial kidney”, hemosorption (filtered extraction of part of the circulating blood) and other manipulations. Depending on the purpose, venous, arterial blood or blood from various vessels are subjected to hemodialysis. Essentially, purified blood enters the body through cellular filters, releasing the liquid and unbound portion of the substance with a dissolved electrolyte complex.
