Hepatitis Toxic-Chemical

Toxic-chemical hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver caused by exposure to toxic substances of chemical origin.

Reasons for development:

  1. Taking medications in high doses (antibiotics, anticonvulsants, antituberculosis and others).

  2. Poisoning with poisonous mushrooms and plants.

  3. Inhalation of toxic vapors (chloroform, carbon tetrachloride).

  4. Alcohol consumption, especially surrogates.

  5. Industrial poisons (mercury, arsenic, phosphorus).

Symptoms:

  1. Temperature increase

  2. Weakness, fatigue

  3. Nausea, vomiting

  4. Pain in the right hypochondrium

  5. Jaundice

  6. Dark urine, discolored stool

Treatment is aimed at eliminating toxic substances from the body, introducing antidotes, and restoring liver function. In severe cases, a liver transplant may be required.

The prognosis depends on the timeliness of treatment. With adequate therapy, complete recovery is possible.
