Burdaha Yadro

Burdach's nucleus (lat. nucleus Burdach) is an accumulation of gray matter in the center of the cerebellum of mammals.

Burdach's nucleus is located in the cerebellar vermis and is an important part of the cerebellar nuclei. It receives afferent fibers from the cerebellar cortex and sends efferent fibers to the red nuclei, which coordinate limb movements.

The structure was first described by the German anatomist and physiologist Karl Burdach in the early 19th century, which is why it bears his name.

Burdacha's nucleus plays an important role in the coordination and control of movements, regulation of muscle tone. Damage to this structure leads to disturbances in balance and gait.
