Dry histaglobulin: use, composition, indications and contraindications

Histaglobulin dry is an immunodrug used for the treatment of allergic diseases such as urticaria, Quincke's edema, neurodermatitis, eczema, bronchial asthma, etc. The drug can also be used in the complex treatment of viral hepatitis, taking into account the role of the allergic component in the pathogenesis of the disease.

Histaglobulin dry is produced in Russia by several companies, including Biomed named after. Mechnikov, Immunopreparat, Microgen NPO (Virion NPO) and Khabarovsk State Enterprise for the production of bacterial preparations. The dosage form of dry histaglobulin is lyophilized powder.

The composition of the drug includes 0.006 g (6 mg) of gamma globulin from human blood (in terms of protein) and 0.0001 mg (0.1 μg) of histamine hydrochloride per 1 ml of isotonic sodium chloride solution.

Contraindications for use include menstruation (possible increased bleeding), febrile conditions and treatment with corticosteroids. Possible side effects are dizziness (more often in older people) and flushing at the injection site. No information on interactions and overdose is provided.
