Mixed goiter
Mixed goiter is a condition that is observed in patients with thyroid tumors in the presence of at least one of the following symptoms:
1. One-sided pharynx of the gland; 2. The presence of nodular or diffuse changes in the parenchyma of the thyroid gland of different origins; 3. Combination of a benign goiter and a malignant tumor.
Classification
The classification of mixed goiter is based on the classification of thyroid tumors and, first of all, depends on the morphological changes in the gland. At the same time, for practical medicine doctors it is of interest to divide the many varieties of mixed goiter into the following types: * Pituitary hypothyroidism, occurring as a result of the secretion of the adenohypophysial tissue of the antithyroid factor TSH while maintaining the normal secretory function of the elements of the thyroid gland (endocrine component), or when its secretion ceases; * Thyrotoxicosis is toxic, caused by the presence of isolated or diffusely dilated follicles (follicular adenoma) or parafollicular cell layers with epithelium against the background of unchanged or abnormal thyroid tissue. There is a goitrogenic effect of TSH, which stimulates the production of ACTH from pre
