Head Appendage

The head of the appendage is the posterior part that protrudes from the outer labia. It has the shape of an elongated cap, narrowed at the end and a wider base. The head most often forms an angle open to the outside, repeating the appearance of the angle of the vas deferens. Due to the abundance of blood vessels and loose connective tissue, the cavernous part of the head of the appendage is increased in diameter and resembles a spongy tumor. The spermatic cord and the nerves that supply it pass through the head. The spermatic cord sharply thins during the transition to the gonads, and the penis narrows to the size of the diameter of the head.
