Gonadotoxicity

Gonadotoxicity is the biological effect of a toxic substance, aimed primarily at the gonads, disrupting their function. The term was coined by Ernst Hoefling to refer to the harmful effects it has on the body's hormonal systems. Symptoms of gonadotoxic poisoning develop as a result of an imbalance of sex hormones or through hormone-dependent activation of other endocrine organs.

Gonadotoxins exert their toxic effects on the gonads, triggering many multidirectional processes in them. If the production of male hormones is blocked, then in men there is a slight increase in the size of the testicles with a sharp decrease
